Hi, I'm Sissi Lara, founder of Behind Your Biz.

I was born in Cuba, raised in Miami, and graduated from the University of Miami in 2015. My career began as a paralegal in family law and probate before transitioning into corporate law, where I spent the past nine years working as a corporate paralegal and business administrator.

During that time, I gained experience in contract administration, corporate governance, compliance, entity management, business formations, and the operational systems that keep businesses running behind the scenes. I also had the opportunity to assist with the expansion of U.S. companies into international markets, giving me a broader perspective on what it takes to build and maintain a growing business.

As my responsibilities evolved, I developed a strong interest in intellectual property and brand protection. My work expanded to include trademarks, patent maintenance, and domain portfolio management, which inspired me to further my education through Trademark Law studies at Penn State University and Intellectual Property studies through the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO).

The more experience I gained, the more I noticed the same pattern. Entrepreneurs, creators, and small business owners were building incredible businesses, but many did not realize how much was happening behind the scenes or how important it was to protect what they were creating. Contracts, business records, trademarks, compliance, domains, and administrative organization may not always be the exciting part of building a business, but they are often the foundation that keeps it strong.

That realization inspired me to create Behind Your Biz. I believe every business and every personal brand deserves access to trusted guidance, organization, and the right resources to grow with confidence, so you can protect what you've worked so hard to create while trusting that the details behind the scenes are being taken care of.

I've always been someone who enjoys creating systems, staying organized, and making sure nothing falls through the cracks. While others enjoy being in front of the camera or leading from the spotlight, I've always found fulfillment working behind the scenes, helping businesses operate more efficiently and protecting the brands people work so hard to build.
